You know, sometimes we’re desperate and have to go to Starbucks. My original breakfast plans were foiled due to Veteran’s Day closures, so I settled. It was strong, notably more strong and bright green than a usually Starbucks matcha. It was quite powdery though. Meh. I couldn’t finish it 😦

This was an amazing matcha. So rich and delicious, not too sweet, not too grass-y. The strawberry was also yum. Came here with my fellow matcha lover friend and it did not disappoint!!

I was rather skeptical of this place. At the USC Village, it had some pastries that didn’t look good to me (so why would the matcha be good?) Then, I saw their big vat of matcha and I was nervous that it would be bad. However, it reminded me of a worse version of the Cha Cha draft – nicely sweetened and an even and smooth texture. This exceeded expectations!

It’s rare that I give 5/5 stars. Something about this matcha was so good – or maybe it was the sunshine and the redemption from earlier that morning’s drink. The vanilla was perfect flavoring (fresh!) and the matcha was smooth and delicious. It did give me quite a lot of caffeine and I got a slight headache afterwards (it did its job!)

Kind of powdery, not the best matcha I’ve ever had. But it was still strong enough (color is acceptable). I did have to get another matcha later in the day to compensate for my disappointment though. This purchase was out of convenience, and not quality.

This was a good matcha! I opted for the milder of their two matchas. It was classic, quality matcha, and I almost wanted some flavor or sweetener. Was an intense flavor for so early in the morning.

The matchas at The Hungry Ghost have never particularly excited me. This one was fine, and did the job as I was quite sleepy and it woke me up. However, it’s always weak and powdery. Strawberry was slight redemption.

I desperately needed caffeine after a long weekend so I went here. It was so powdery and gross, I mean look at that color! THEN I got yelled at at the Brooklyn Museum and was told I couldn’t bring it in so I had to CHUG it and had a horrible headache after. Photo is after said chug.

This was also phenomenal. Sometimes adding things like earl grey or lavender to matcha tastes horrible, but this was perfectly crafted. A great refreshment to a hot west village weekend, and I wish that it wasn’t just a seasonal drink!!

The matcha itself was excellent and incredibly strong. Look at that color! It was a lychee matcha which was unique and exciting but the lychee was rather chunky in the bottom and didn’t feel like it blended seamlessly with the rest of the drink. I felt quite caffeinated afterwards.

I walked into Cha Cha before work to treat myself to a draft matcha and was sad to find they didn’t have any, but so pleased that I could get this PLUS a big free perfume sample! The sample smelled good and made my day. I wish the drink came in a bigger size.

This was my first time having matcha in a smoothie. It has almond milk, matcha, spinach, banana, dates, vanilla, blue spirulina, plant protein, and probiotic coconut yogurt. I was hungry before work and got the smoothie with the most calories and it happened to include matcha. It pleasantly surprised me and wasn’t too sweet, I would recommend except points off because it was $15 and society cannot justify a $15 beverage.

This was honestly pretty good. Got it for free because I spent enough at Aritzia (already had two matchas that day that I made myself and from Cha Cha but I couldn’t say no). The cashier guy really sold the strawberry and the barista complemented my sweater. Small portion but good matcha good strawberry would get again especially if it is free (it wasn’t I spent lots of money on clothes…)

Had to try it with lavender this time! Lavender was good but was just a thick syrup at the bottom. Very strong flavor to the point of being artificial but I still enjoyed, wouldn’t add it again but no points off because I used my student discount and had points so it didn’t cost me extra.

The matcha was good, and employee was so nice, she complemented my perfume! This is a rose flavored matcha and I thought the rose flavor was very real, and the rose petals were nice touch. I think I will stick with lavender though. It was just super sweet and I got a headache after drinking it (maybe also the caffeine and def a me problem) so I must go get the plain matcha. Also was quite expensive.

Rather grainy, it was weirdly oily, the lavender was lavender petals just floating in it. Enjoyed the first sip but it got worse from there and had a weird aftertaste. I wouldn’t get again and it was super expensive. Sad!

Every time I get the matcha here I’m disappointed. It tastes acceptably not powdery if you know what I mean but that’s because they premake the matcha in a little squeegy bottle. It could use some sweetener but in a bind it’s not horrible. Expensive though! Points off for paper straw.

I don’t know if it was the lingering cough drop taste in my mouth but this drink was horrible and it was also $11 (I tipped $1 because the barista was friendly). It tasted grainy and bad. Don’t go to matchaful! Next time I want to buy an $11 I will go to Enly around the corner.

Such great flavors, melts in my mouth. Perfect consistency, absolutely delicious. I think this is a seasonal flavor and I already don’t see it on the menu 😦 #bringitback! Get the student discount. They always put such cute stickers all over your cup too.
